York is a fantastic location for a “City Break”, with all the attractions of a medieval City; ancient street layouts and the stunning York Minster and Roman walls, with the River Ouse running through the middle. York has developed quite a reputation for good food, with many new and interesting establishments as well as numerous pubs served by a growing plethora of small independent breweries (York Brewery to name the obvious) as well as the larger more established names. Further afield, North Yorkshire boasts numerous sites and attractions, and the East Coast from Staithes and Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough and Bridlington are all worth exploring.

York is also home to the internationally recognised York Racecourse, with about 18 race days in the year, including the Dante Festival and the Ebor Festival, various music events and other exhibitions and conferences.
