Rosegate House, Elterwater, Double Bedroom
Rosegate Cottage, Elterwater, Patio

A great family home in the heart of Langdale

This is a lovely three bedroom family home in the centre of one of the most picturesque villages in the Lake District

Rosegate House is a fantastic luxurious holiday cottage in the village of Elterwater.  It has been converted from the former stables that once served the gunpowder works in the nineteenth century and is part of much larger property that enjoys a prominent position in the village.  Rosegate House is beautifully presented to provide luxury accommodation for six guests. The elevated position ensures superb views across the meadows and village.

Entering on the second floor guests will find a galley style kitchen,  light and comfortable lounge /  dining room with a feature Lakeland slate fireplace and fantastic views from the windows and a separate bathroom. Upstairs there are two tastefully furnished double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and an additional bathroom.

Outside guests can enjoy the lovely views from the patio. There is private parking for two cars. National Trust members can also park for free in the National Trust Car Park beside the beck in Elterwater.

Elterwater is one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District and the location of Rosegate House puts you right in the heart of the village.  The famous Britannia Inn is a short stroll away from the front door offering delicious rustic seasonal pub dining, serving breakfast, lunch and supper. It has two individual bar areas for day visitors, warming open fires and stunning alfresco dining under the summer sun making it a pub for all seasons. Slates Bistro nestled on the corner overlooks Elterwater’s distinctive Maple tree and a stone’s throw from the house.

For those who wish to explore further afield, a bus stop is located opposite the Britannia Inn. Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
