Fold Cottage is a traditional, Grade 2 listed Lakeland cottage set in the quaint village of Outgate. In recent years it has undergone a complete refurbishment to a high standard. The cosy lounge features a log burning stove (Wood Only!), the bathroom just off the double bedroom features a freestanding bath and separate shower, the kitchen is well equipped, there is underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, and a new room added to the rear provides the luxury of extra space without losing the cosy cottage feel. Outside there is an enclosed cottage garden with outdoor seating area and parking for 2 cars.
Outgate sits between Ambleside and Hawkshead, nestled in the heart of picturesque Beatrix Potter countryside. The rugged mountains of the Langdale valley are a short drive away. Grizedale Forest is just 4 miles down the road with many activities available from a pleasant stroll around the famous sculpture trail to the more extreme ‘North Face’ Mountain Bike route. The shore of Windermere is a 30 minute bucolic walk away.
The Outgate Inn, with a selection of real ales, home cooked food and roaring fires is just across the field in front of the cottage. The famous gastro pub and real ale brewery The Drunken Duck at Barngates is a mile away up a quiet lane. Ambleside, Hawkshead and Coniston with all the facilities they offer are easily accessible by car or public transport or, for the ardent rambler, on foot.
