This is a fantastic property close to the centre of Ambleside, set in a quiet street just off Kirkstone Road in the conservation area, a stone’s throw from the Golden Rule.
Converted from an original barn, the property is well equipped and furnished and has parking for two cars – a premium for Ambleside. There are three bedrooms; two doubles and a single. One of the doubles can be arranged as a twin with optional zip and link 2ft 6in beds (please let us know when booking if you would like this set up as singles). Kitchen with dining area, spacious hall with time-worn flagged floor and cosy living room with a wood-burning stove. There is also a downstairs toilet just off the entrance hall.
Outside is a terraced garden with outside seating and a small garage area that has ample storage for bikes and equipment.
High Barn is in a great location, with walks from the door, up towards Red Screes, or over to High Sweden Bridge and around the Fairfield Horseshoe, or, for fantastic views over Lake Windermere, go up past Stockgyll and up to the summit of Wansfell. Only a short walk into the town centre, with great bars and restaurants, and a good range of shops for supplies and entertainment. Ambleside also boasts three small cinemas for those rainy days.
