A stylish house in the heart of town

Holmdale is a wonderful property right in the heart of Ambleside.

Holmdale has been thoughtfully renovated by the current owners, who have created a stylish space for family and friends.

The open plan kitchen – diner with its log burner is the perfect hub for your stay, with a separate living room, and two bedrooms; the master bedroom has a lovely en-suite  shower room with WC and basin.  The second bedroom has a zip and link bed that is ordinarily set up as a twin. If you would prefer the beds to be made into a double please mention this when making your booking.  The family bathroom has a shower over a bath which is a great place to soak after a day’s walking.

The central location of Holmdale puts guests right in the heart of popular Ambleside, but on sunny days the rear of the property provides a solace of peace and quiet.

The bustling town of Ambleside is a stroll away and is a popular tourist resort offering a diverse range of eateries from picnic takeaways to a Michelin starred restaurant. It boasts three cinemas, gift shops, outdoor clothing stores, hotels, cafes and a park with outdoor activities. Of course England’s largest lake, Windermere, is on the doorstep with all the fun of a variety of watersports, cruises and a great place to just sit and watch the world go by.

Good Wi-Fi, digital radio and smart-TV provide you with all the connections you need, making Holmdale a great choice for a break.

In the back yard there is a separate secure outbuilding with a washing machine and ample room to store your bikes and kit.  Parking on Compston Road is limited to one hour parking disc only (disc provided in the house), but there is a parking permit provided for the local carpark only a few minutes walk away.

For those who wish to explore further afield, a bus stop is located nearby. Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
