A fantastic cottage for family and friends

This historic cottage has glorious period features and some quirky modern ones with contemporary artwork, from a funky coloured shower tray to the stunning large stone fire place and woodburner complemented by button back leather chairs with claw feet and the stone flagged entrance and kitchen with beams.  Large comfortable beds await you at the end of the day in spacious bedrooms with a bathroom boasting a free standing bath to soak in or a contemporary shower room.  In the sitting room there is a large corner settee to relax on in front of the woodburner for those cosy evenings in or why not throw open the French doors and enjoy your favourite drink or meal on the patio while enjoying the ambience of the countryside?

This spacious cottage is suitable for family and friends to enjoy whilst exploring this area which is well placed to explore the coast, the Lakes and Yorkshire.  This area is ideal for walking and cycling both locally and further afield.  Locally you can explore Farleton Knott which has superb, far reaching views of the area from the sea to the Lakeland fells and is renowned for butterflies, impressive lime stone pavements and fossil beds.  The charming market village of Kirkby Lonsdale is well worth a visit with its pretty river, medieval Devils Bridge and an array of good quality eateries, pubs serving local ales and even a chocolatier and old fashioned sweet shop as well as an ancient church.Locally, Silverdale and Arnside are both worthy of a visit with ample walking and glorious cafés and pubs serving traditional ale along the coast, while Silverdale also has Leighton Moss RSPB where rare birds, otters and deer can often be seen.  Opposite here is a golf course if you fancy a round and the railway station where you could hop on a train and visit Grange over Sands across the viaduct in less than 15 minutes or head to Arnside.

This area is also has beautiful historic houses and gardens from Levens Hall with its world-class topiary gardens, Sizergh Castle with an ancient medieval hall and oldest known leather panelling and Holker Hall; all also have delicious eateries and artisan shops.  With Kendal and Windermere within easy reach along with Ingleton and Ingleton Falls you will be spoilt for choice for your days out.

At the end of the day your welcoming cottage awaits willing you to return to relax, unwind and enjoy the delightful setting.  This is an ideal location to holiday in whatever your requirements in all seasons year round.
