Located between Ambleside and Skelwith Bridge, just outside Clappersgate, this compact hideaway is perfectly located for easy access to the stunning Langdale valley or back into bustling Ambleside with all the amenities this vibrant town has to offer.
Small and cosy but perfectly formed, this well appointed one bed apartment now boasts a newly updated, convenient kitchenette (July 2022) with oven and hob facilities, fridge and microwave. Together with its contemporary en-suite walk in shower room with wash hand basin and WC, this property has all you need to keep you self sufficient.
Being on one level from the parking area, The Nest also provides accessibility for any guest with restricted mobility.
In front of the Nest there is private parking and doors that open onto a space to sit and relax outdoors in its covered seating area.
The Nest is part of a small private development of exclusive houses including The River House (sleeps 4) and The Pavilion (sleeps 4). They each have their own private parking and entrances and can be rented together for larger groups up to ten guests or separately as required.

Just outside Ambleside at the northern end of Lake Windermere, Clappersgate is a small hamlet perfectly positioned for exploring the central Lake District. Set where the River Brathay meets the road to Coniston and Hawkshead, it offers a peaceful base with excellent access to some of the area’s best-loved walks and attractions.
Clappersgate is within easy reach of Ambleside, just a 15-minute stroll along the road, and lies on the A593, making it a convenient stop for those travelling by car. The nearest train station is at Windermere, about 5 miles away, with bus and taxi connections available.
From here, you can walk straight into the surrounding fells, enjoy a riverside picnic, or head down to the shores of Windermere at Waterhead. The nearby Brathay Hall estate offers open grounds to explore, while the charming villages of Hawkshead and Coniston are only a short drive away through some of the most scenic routes in the Lakes.
