The Stables is a fantastic apartment for two people in the village of Elterwater.
It has been converted from the former stables that once served the gunpowder works in the nineteenth century and is part of a much larger property that enjoys a prominent position in the village.
Accommodation comprises of an open plan lounge / well equipped kitchen diner, all furnished to a very high standard with a modern style. From the lounge is the cosy double bedroom and en-suite WC and shower room.
Elterwater is one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District and the location of The Stables puts guests right in the heart of the village. The famous Britannia Inn is just a short stroll away from the front door, Slates Bistro sits on the corner over looking Elterwater’s maple tree and for a touch of fine dining, guests can stroll across the stone bridge that spans the River Brathay to the Eltermere Inn.
The Stables couldn’t be more convenient for the bus stop. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow countryside lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
There is private parking for one car. Additional parking can be found in the National Trust Car Park beside Elterwater’s babbling river, subject of many paintings. National Trust members can park for free.
