Inglewood Cottage in Chapel Stile is a delightful, cosy cottage.  The accommodation for 2 people comprises a kitchen and lounge with open fire downstairs and a double bedroom with separate bathroom upstairs.  To the rear of the cottage is a small paved garden with seating area overlooking the meadows and fells. There is also a small convenient outside covered storage area ideal for storing bicycles. The property is accessed by 14 steps down to the front door.

The heart of the village is just a short stroll away where guests can find the well stocked local convenience store – the Langdale Co-op, Brambles Cafe and the welcoming village church – The Great Langdale Holy Trinity and Wainwrights Inn which sells local brewed ales and provides good homemade food. The famous climbers inn The Old Dungeon Ghyll, New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel and Stickle Barn Tavern (now owned by the National Trust) are just up the Langdale Valley.

Inglewood Cottage is a good base to explore the many activities in the local area with some of the best scenery in the National Park, right on the doorstep.

The property is not far from a main bus route so for those who wish to explore further afield, a bus stop is located nearby. Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!

Elterwater, the famous Britannia Inn and Slates Bistro are a short stroll away with a fabulous walk along the river. The cottage is also handily placed to access the Langdale Valley, 4 miles from Ambleside and close to neighbouring villages of Grasmere and Hawkshead.
