Many of the best walks in the area can be enjoyed from the doorstep. The Talbot Pub and Chesters Café at Skelwith Bridge provide great food and drink and are a short walk from the house. The quaint hamlet of Skelwith is approximately half a mile away with woodland walks and some of the narrowest Lakeland lanes to explore. There is a fantastic walk along the River Brathay to Elterwater through ancient woodland passing the waterfalls. Ambleside is just under 3 miles away via road, and the head of the Great Langdale Valley is just 5 miles away. Hawkshead, Coniston and Grasmere are also easily accessed.
