Arranged on two levels above the cottage of Jacks Nook, the accommodation is extremely comfortable and comprises of a double bedroom, twin bedroom, lounge / dining area, kitchen and bathroom. The property has excellent views from the large living room window across a meadow over Chapel Stile village to the fells beyond.
The heart of the village is just a short stroll away. In the village you can find the well stocked local convenience store -the Langdale Co-op, Brambles Cafe, the welcoming village church – The Great Langdale Holy Trinity and The Wainwrights Inn which sells local brewed ales and provides good homemade food. The famous climbers inn The Old Dungeon Ghyll, New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel and Stickle Barn Tavern (now owned by the National Trust) are just up the Langdale Valley.
Church Bank is a good base to explore the many activities in the local area with some of the best scenery and walking right on the doorstep.
Although there is no designated parking with Church Bank, you may find parking underneath the church wall or around the village.
The property is not far from a main bus route. Elterwater, the famous Britannia Inn and Slates Bistro are a short stroll away with a fabulous walk along the river. The cottage is also handily placed to access the Langdale Valley, 4 miles from Ambleside and close to neighbouring villages of Grasmere and Hawkshead.
