This centrally located property has bright modern bathrooms and living space
The Old Post Office, as the name suggests, was once run as the village Post Office in Chapel Stile. It enjoys a prominent position in the village and is now a quaint holiday cottage with accommodation for up to six holiday makers.
On the ground floor there is a well-equipped cottage style kitchen with dining area and a cosy lounge with newly fitted log burner. Up to the first floor there is the spacious main bedroom, a small twin bedroom and newly fitted modern bathroom. From the ground floor stairs take you down to the lower ground floor where there is a further good sized double bedroom, small newly fitted shower room and a utility room.
From the lower ground floor a door leads to an enclosed patio and steps from here lead to an upper patio area which catches the sun through the day.
There is designated parking for up to four cars at the front of the house.
The heart of the village is just a short stroll away. In the village you can find the well stocked local convenience store -the Langdale Coop, Brambles Cafe, and the Village Church – The Great Langdale Holy Trinity and The Wainwrights Inn which sells local brewed ales and provides good homemade food. The famous climbers inn The Old Dungeon Ghyll, New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, and Stickle Barn Tavern (now owned by the National Trust) are just up the Langdale Valley.
The property is on a main bus route with a stop just across the road. Elterwater, the famous Britannia Inn and Slates Bistro are a short stroll away with a fabulous walk along the river. The cottage is also handily placed to access the Langdale Valley, 4 miles from Ambleside and close to neighbouring villages of Grasmere and Hawkshead.
