Lovely retreat in Elterwater

Cosy retreat for 4 close to the centre of this beautiful village.

Victory Cottage is a delightful and well furnished traditional terraced property right in the heart of Elterwater and the Langdale Valley.

Well  equipped, this lovely little cottage has everything you need for a stay in the Lakes with an open plan kitchen-diner-living space, cosy log burner, smart TV and two double bedrooms on the first floor. One bedroom is en-suite with a shower over the bath. There is a separate shower room.

Walking is easy from the front door over Elterwater common towards Grasmere, Loughrigg Tarn or alongside the river towards Skelwith Bridge and Chesters by the River Cafe.

Elterwater is at the heart of one of the best loved areas of the Lake District; the gateway to Langdale, some of the most dramatic scenery in the Lakes and best loved fells and pikes.

The famous Britannia Inn is just a short stroll away from the front door and Slates Bistro is on the corner opposite Elterwater’s magnificent maple tree. For fine dining, the welcoming Eltermere Inn is a five minute walk away over the stone bridge that spans the River Brathay. Surrounded by extensive lawns framed with awe-inspiring views, the Eltermere Inn combines the highest standards of service, good food and informality.

There is a designated parking space for one car outside the property.

For those who wish to explore further afield, a bus stop is located opposite the Britannia Inn. Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
