Keira’s Cottage is set back from the main road in Elterwater – a beautiful little village in the heart of Langdale with some of the best walking in the Lake District pretty much right from the doorstep. It boasts an airy and spacious open plan living room with a mezzanine bedroom floor and vaulted ceiling. Fittings and flooring are in oak.
Leading off the living room, the kitchen is well designed and equipped with Neff appliances. A separate utility room has additional storage and clothes washing facilities. Two en-suite bedrooms are towards the back of the cottage ensuring privacy, peace and quiet.
To the front of the property is a small seating, a perfect place for soaking up the south facing aspect, along with parking for two cars to the rear.
The famous Britannia Inn is just a short stroll away from the front door and Slates Bistro is on the corner opposite Elterwater’s magnificent maple tree. For fine dining, the welcoming Eltermere Inn is a five minute walk away over the stone bridge that spans the babbling River Brathay. Surrounded by extensive lawns framed with awe-inspiring views, the Eltermere Inn combines the highest standards of service, good food and informality.
A mile away in Chapel Stile is a well-stocked village shop providing all the essentials. Larger shops are located in Ambleside and Windermere.
For those who wish to explore further afield, a bus stop is located opposite Elterwater’s maple tree. Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
