Located on the top road above Chapel Stile, which is really Walthwaite, this property has wonderful views across to Lingmoor Fell and the old quarry workings across the valley.
You can also walk down and across fields to Wainwrights Inn, along the river and into Elterwater. There are some fantastic walks from directly behind the cottage up and over across Silver How to Grasmere with Spedding Crag directly above.
Speddy is a traditional two storey whitewashed semi detached cottage that sleeps five people. Upstairs are two double rooms and a single with one family bathroom. It is right next door to our End Cottage, which can be booked together offering enough accommodation for eleven guests in total.
It has been restored very much in a traditional style with stone flag floors on the ground floor and polished boards on the first. A modern kitchen has been added, along with two wood burning stoves in the living room and dining room. Additional warmth is provided by electric wall heaters in each room. The bedrooms have been furnished with substantial French-style beds with new mattresses, with pretty soft furnishings throughout.
There is private parking for one vehicle and up to two dogs are welcome, for a small additional charge.
