Elterwater is one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District and the location of The Stables puts guests right in the heart of the village. The famous Britannia Inn is just a short stroll away from the front door, Slates Bistro sits on the corner over looking Elterwater’s maple tree and for a touch of fine dining, guests can stroll across the stone bridge that spans the River Brathay to the Eltermere Inn.
The Stables couldn’t be more convenient for the bus stop. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow countryside lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
There is private parking for one car. Additional parking can be found in the National Trust Car Park beside Elterwater’s babbling river, subject of many paintings. National Trust members can park for free.
