Overview

1 Bridge Syke Cottage, Elterwater

This lovely little cottage nestled beside Elterwater’s bridge and babbling beck has been completely renovated during 2022. Its modern open plan layout on the ground floor, including a well- fitted kitchen, living and dining area lies behind a traditional terraced cottage frontage.

Both bedrooms are on the first floor, a double and a twin, together with a separate modern shower room with WC.

The house is the corner property of this lovely little terrace with the garden to the front and around the side of the cottage.  There is also an outbuilding which makes excellent storage for bikes and gear. Parking for one car is behind the property. Additional parking can be found in the nearby National Trust Car Park where members can park free of charge.

Elterwater is a very pretty village at the gateway into the breath-taking Langdale valley, and also where our office is located.  Home to a family run local pub the Britannia Inn and the wonderful cocktail bar Lanty Slees, is a quick walk out of Elterwater towards Red Bank, located in the old Wayside Pulpit chapel.  Across the stone bridge that spans the beck and on towards Colwith, guests will be amazed at the friendly Eltermere Inn Country Hotel. Surrounded by extensive lawns, framed with awe- inspiring views, a warm and cosy lounge, dining areas and informal bar area, the Eltermere is a place for guests to treat themselves during their stay.

Langdale and Little Langdale is where all the best lumpy stuff is, so park your car up and walk from the village to enjoy some of the best walking in the Lake District.

For those who wish to explore further afield, a bus stop is located opposite Elterwater’s magnificent maple tree. Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!

Please note there is a damage deposit of £200.00 for this cottage, which will be taken the day prior to arrival.
