Based in the middle of Elterwater, which in our opinion is the heart of the Lake District. Langdale is home to some of the most dramatic hills.
Bottom Shop is a beautifully presented cosy retreat for up to three guests in which to base yourself for a stay in Langdale, home to some of the most dramatic hills in the Lake District. A convenient location to explore the area combined and a relaxing space in which to snuggle up in front of the wood burner, makes this property hard to better.
This traditional mid terrace Lakeland cottage is all on one level and has been carefully renovated by the owners, who have thought of everything you will need for a relaxing self catering holiday in our heartland; a well equipped kitchen, smart TVs in the open plan living room and master bedroom, electric heating to enable guests to enjoy the cottage year round and a wood burner for that cosy feel. The single and double bedroom share the separate walk-in shower room with wash hand basin and WC. Both bedrooms have new comfortable beds to help you relax and unwind during your stay in the English Lake District.
Outside you can enjoy the back terrace and garden area from inside looking through large picture window/French doors, or outside on the terrace with a warm drink or a glass of your favourite drink.
Elterwater is the gateway to Langdale with wonderful walking and breath-taking scenery. A local family friendly pub (the Britannia Inn) is almost on the doorstep, a well stocked local shop (the Co-op) is nearby in Chapel Stile and The Eltermere Inn is a short walk away across the stone bridge spanning the River Brathay, if a more formal fine dining evening tickles your fancy.
For those who wish to explore further afield, a bus stop is located opposite the Britannia Inn. Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, countryside lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
