Fold Cottage is a traditional, Grade 2 listed Lakeland cottage set in the quaint village of Outgate and nestled in the heart of picturesque Beatrix Potter countryside.
The rugged mountains of the Langdale valley are a short drive away. Grizedale Forest is just 4 miles down the road with many activities available from a pleasant stroll around the famous sculpture trail to the more extreme ‘North Face’ Mountain Bike route and Go Ape. The shore of Windermere is a 30 minute bucolic walk away.
The cosy lounge features a log burning stove for wood only. The kitchen to the rear is well equipped and the ground floor enjoys underfloor heating throughout. A new room has been added to the rear providing the luxury of extra space without losing the cosy cottage feel.
Upstairs is the double bedroom with separate bathroom. The bathroom features a freestanding bath and separate shower and WC.
Outside there is an enclosed cottage garden with outdoor seating area and parking sufficient for two vehicles.
The Outgate Inn serves a selection of real ales, home cooked food and often has a roaring fire to welcome its guests. It is just across the field in front of the cottage. The famous gastro pub and real ale brewery, The Drunken Duck at Barngates, is a mile away up a quiet lane. Ambleside, Hawkshead and Coniston with all the facilities they offer are easily accessible by car or public transport or, for the ardent rambler, on foot.
