Lake District Christmas breaks can be described in one word…magical! Where better to spend the most wonderful time of the year than among snow-capped fells, in cosy cafes with roaring fires and browsing charming local Christmas markets?
A Lake District Christmas is filled with festive activities that all the family will love. Children can take part in plenty of family-friendly Lake District Christmas events, and play in the wintry countryside to their heart’s content. For adults, what better way is there to relax than with a book by the fire in one of our Lake District Christmas cottages, or sample the local ales in a charming country pub?
Our Christmas Cottages in the Lake District are situated in the most beautiful holiday spots, like Coniston Grasmere, Elterwater, Hawkshead and more. If you want to escape from all the hustle and bustle this festive season, you can snuggle up in a classic stone cottage in one of the quieter villages, like Little Langdale. Or, if you fancy walking among the twinkling lights and attending some Christmas events with a cup of mulled wine in hand, then one of our Ambleside Christmas cottages might be the perfect fit.
There are so many types of UK Christmas breaks that can be enjoyed in the Lake District. If you’re looking for a cosy bolthole for two to cuddle up in during the festive season, then we still have romantic holiday cottages available to book now for a couple’s break away over the Christmas holidays.
Or maybe you’re bringing the whole family, plus grandma, the kids and the dog, to enjoy an enchanting Christmas break together. In that case, we have lots of large holiday cottages that will fit everyone around the table for turkey, pigs in blankets and all the trimmings. You can also explore William Wordsworth’s cottage, and pick up a jigsaw from Barney’s Newsbox to finish over the holidays.
